This month has seen a range of consolidations going on in the UK. Vyta’s acquisition of FGD was quickly followed by Tier 1 and EOL’s merger meant many have missed Restore Technologies acquisition of Ultratec.

Each of these appears to follow different strategic patterns but it’s great to see excellent companies coming together to hopefully make the combined mass even stronger.

With the recent announcement of Blancco acquiring White Canyon (WipeDrive) it seems the software vendor space is keen to not be left behind. This takes Blancco’s already dominant position even further and will enhance their customer base significantly within the US ITAD and Corporate market.

We’re delighted that after a 12-month chase, we have finally appointed Dr. Phil Turner as Director of Technology in charge of the ADISA Research Centre. Phil led the group at QinetiQ who worked with CESG in the formation of the product approvals against IS5.  His knowledge of drive functionality and vulnerabilities is second to none and ADISA Certification looks forward to introducing new sanitisation certifications over the coming months.

Steve Mellings, Founder of ADISA explains, “Phil will enhance our data sanitisation certification with his experience of creating and running product certification programs for government, we are excited to work with him.”
