About LOCS:23
Welcome to the Legal Services Operational Privacy Certification Scheme (LOCS:23).
The criteria for this scheme has been officially approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office under reference ICO.CSC/006 and ADISA has been appointed by the Scheme Owner 2Twenty4 Consulting Ltd as the exclusive certification body. You can download the Standard here.
ADISA has been piloting the scheme since August 2023 and is delighted to now be taking applications for certification.
The scheme itself, is currently under review by UKAS, ahead of them then evaluating ADISA to become the Article 43 Certification Body for this scheme. As an existing UKAS Accredited Body, our back office processes are already approved we will be starting certification by taking applicants through the application review stage and ensuring they are ready for an audit. Once the Scheme Review has been carried by UKAS we will progress all applicants through the final stages of the audit.
What is LOCS:23?
LOCS23 certification is the new Legal Services Operational Privacy Certification Scheme – (LOCS:23 v12.2). ADISA is the exclusive certification body for this ICO-approved criteria (ICO-CSC/006) and we look forward to working with you on your journey to become certified to this, the first, GDPR Certification Scheme for the legal services.
How to become certified
To prepare for certification, an organization should evaluate its readiness, either independently or through third parties. ADISA offers templates for this assessment, available upon request. It’s crucial to demonstrate compliance with the standards’ criteria during an audit, and to have a plan to rectify any non-compliant areas before the audit.
